So you can actually do the opposite of the crowd.
And when everyone else is jumping over each other to line up at ABC bullion in mud and play, we were the one selling to all of those people because it had already had a great run.
Yeah, we've seen the exact same.
I mean, it's almost a replay of what happened in January with gold and I'm playing it's a long-term top, but certainly when there's that sort of exuberance with retail investors, there's a short warning signal.
We've seen the same recently with all the AI stocks and, you know, any of the listeners that go and pull up a chart of the Korean share market, it's quite fascinating because it's fallen almost 40% in the last couple of months because everyone got so infatuated with their AI stock.
And then just last night, one of them had a poor earnings result and their share market has come back a long way because of it.
Look, the best research in this area, I think, is done by S&P in Australia.
And because they look at every fund manager in every asset class and compare it to the index of that asset class.
And they account for something that a lot of research doesn't, which is survivorship.
Because typically, poor performers disappear.
But if you don't include them in your research.
So S&P does great research.
I've put up their long-term research on bond fund managers.
And it's found that 77% have underperformed the bond index.
over the last 15 years.
Although, you know, it does change year to year.
So last year, about two thirds of fund managers in the bond space beat the market.
So the year to year results can vary a lot, but the long-term results are quite conclusive in almost all asset classes, which is it's very hard to make up the costs that you're charging clients in outperformance.
And it's actually harder in bonds.
For actively trading.
