I could care less about everyone else.

It was the people that I was connected to.

Because everywhere you go in church, there's this, like, oh, go Cougs.

And I get it, right?

I work there now, and, like,

I love BYU.

And so now I understand the magnitude of BYU athletics.

Now, I didn't understand it back then as a Southern California kid.

I understand it within my household and my church, but I didn't understand the magnitude of how big the fan base is, how much they love their athletics, how much they love their university.

I understood UCLA, right?

Because that's where I grew up going to games.

I understood Duke because they're on TV every second, right?

And

so that to me was really it was hard because i really did feel that way i did feel like i know they let him down but like this i gotta do what i feel is best and you know

There's a process that we're taught in the Mormon faith of how to go about decision-making.

And I felt like I went about that process with the help of my dad and my bishop and things like that to make sure I was thinking about this the right way and going about this the right way.

So I felt good about my decision.

So I was like, if we believe in this, then I feel like I'm making the right decision for whatever reason.

And then once, honestly, once I talked to Coach K, because I called Coach Reed first and talked to Coach K, I felt way better.
