You're a guy that can get us into our actions, especially when you have a five-man guarding that's sitting back at the three-point line.
When you're open, shoot that basketball.
That's a better shot than us trying to get side to side and end up taking a tough contested long two or something like that.
So that's what I learned from my coach.
But I've been super lucky.
I played some really good overseas coaches, some were on the national team, and David Black coached in the NBA with the Cavs, and I got to play for him.
So I've learned a lot.
The European I thought was where I learned probably a ton of basketball just in terms of spacing, making the right play, and honestly, like, who cares who's leading score, right?
Like, I remember being like, you're a big who can shoot threes, right?
Like, yeah, shoot the threes.
But then...
What I learned in Europe, right, was because I didn't really, when I first got over there, like I didn't shoot threes in college.
Like I shot a ton in high school.
I didn't shoot three in college.
That wasn't my job.
When I got to Europe, my coach was just like, can you shoot threes?
I'm like, yeah, I think I can make it.
I haven't done it in a while.
And so it took me a couple seasons to start feeling comfortable shooting the three-point line.
But I played for a coach before I started really letting it fly from three, being like, I don't care if you can shoot threes.
