If it's not too bad, and in this instance it probably was a little bit over the line, he may well get more than just the letter.

He may get a touchline ban, he may get a fine.

It all depends on how generous or not the FA are feeling.

But normally if it's your first offence, which it probably is for Michael Carrick because he's not too outspoken, then he might just get a rap on the knuckles.

But...

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how the rule changes, if it changes at all, because it's not the first hair-pulling incident we've had in the Premier League this season, and I don't think it'll be the last.
