San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie says some people's mental illness prevents them from understanding they need medication, and he's sponsoring a bill authored by State Assemblywoman Catherine Stephanie.

Opponents argue that forced medication is a violation of civil rights, but Stephanie says it doesn't make sense to let people die on the streets with their civil rights intact.
