You know, so often for us, you know, reporting on government, the very nature of the connections and relationships that political journalists tend to emphasize, because it's those who are politically most important, is a relatively thin veneer.

And of course, you try and develop contacts within the civil service and all the rest of it.
But for perfectly good reason, a lot of those people in those roles are reluctant to engage with journalists.
