Look, I'd be lying if I said I was that way from the very first investigation we did because that first one in Bethpage, Long Island, I was just trying to keep my throat, my heart out of my throat and in my chest because, you know,

we're doing this for the first time.

And I'd done a lot of edgy stuff over the years and all over the world, but you got a guy and you're face to face and you've got security, but you don't know how this thing is gonna roll.

But by the time we got four or five of them down, you just gotta dig deep and you have to be incredibly focused.

You gotta be a quick study with the transcripts and you have to be incredibly patient.

You can't just read 10 questions off of a notepad.

You gotta get inside this guy's head.

And you've got to live there, as challenging as that sounds and as grotesque as that may be.

But that's how we get the information.

I mean, a good interviewer, as you know, is a good listener.

And so you live in that moment, and you're thinking about a lot of things, your safety, his physical actions, how he's looking.

Could he be carrying a gun?

Some parts of the country, it's easier to carry a gun than others.

And you've got security.

I mean, look, we make this absolutely as safe as it can be, Megan.

I've never taken a punch.

I've never gotten a scratch.

Nothing has ever happened.

But we don't take it for granted.

Each one is a new protocol, and we go through it very strictly.
