Um I think the there has to be some m because uh I think if you look at uh the the two league positions, uh and and I I know there was a Europa Cup success the season before last which which was fabulous, but I think if you look at the two

league positions.

I have no doubt at all that that last season's season would have been a lot better had it not been for the amount of injuries that um that were accumulated at at the club and and of course that the manager had to work around.

So I think that's that's still a an issue.

But the jump from two seventeenth places to some expectations of of championship

League is a is a huge jump.

But I think everybody's expecting it to be a far better season.

And I think um there's there should be a little bit of caution.

Um but I think with the amount of players that have been signed already and and hopefully two or three others to come in, then um I think um I can understand the optimism.

Uh well firstly it was a an incredibly good atmosphere.

I think there were twenty of us, twenty uh ex-players, which which ranged from Phil Bill, who um played very much in the sort of sixties and sort of early seventies, all the way through to somebody like uh Jermaine Defoe that um that most would would remember.

But it was a a bringing together of the the two the two ends.

friends of the club, obviously the the ex players and of course the the the players that are are now playing.

So it was no big speeches.

It was the opportunity to watch training, to m meet the manager

to have lunch and meet the players and and remember, you know, for probably the large majority of the the ex players, um, these players that today wouldn't have been born when we were playing.

So it was a really good a good opportunity to mix the old with the new.

sense that little bit of of history.

Uh and I must admit it was a really good afternoon.

And the the players, the modern day players and the the present day players were were very I think motivated by it.
