There was used to be a speech that he decided against.
He was gonna do some interviews, uh uh including one with me, and he decided not to bother with any of that.
And we've not seen it we've not seen him.
We he did a little thing in the middle of the night before the election uh result, uh talking
But uh since then.
He's vanished.
Yeah, I think there is a bit of of that.
And and actually what's interesting, a guy called Tim Montgomery, who you, Henry and Adam are familiar with and newscasters may well be the founder of Conservative Home, longstanding conservative activist who deflected to reform a couple of years ago and is a supporter of reform and of Nigel Farage.
He was on Radio Four at lunchtime on the World at One, making an argument.
He thinks Nigel Farage is a brilliant politician and brings many assets
To politics and to reform, but he reckons that Mr.
Farage is too absorbed by what he said was a sort of sense of grievance at the moment, a sense of negativity, and that the best face, as he sees of Nigel Farage, is a more positive and upbeat one.
Now I think there's a various things, Henry, playing into this.
I think uh he and his team, Farage and his team, are probably exhausted from the campaign of the last few weeks.
I think probably there was a bit of a thought that if you don't go out and give a speech and give interviews, that the story is one of Nigel Farage wins the by-election oh and there's this oddity about him not turning up in various places, as opposed to the headlines being all about those questions that he continues to face about reforms finances and the re-established investigation by Parliament Standards Commissioner, um, et cetera, uh, et cetera.
And and them making an argument that they say, look at the endorsement we've had from people in the patch, more votes for Nigel Farage in this contest than a couple of years ago.
A pretty healthy turnout for a by-election in the middle of uh middle of summer without the other main parties uh standing.
But yeah, that that kind of demeanour, if you like, Henry, of Nigel Farage at uh the moment is a fascinating one at just the point that they face.
Not just a level of scrutiny, but a a level of um competitive zeal from their principal opponents that we haven't seen for some time.
There's this kind of burn and bounce uh going on at the moment for the Labour Party.
