I call it Five Years, a sketchbook of political drawings.
And each morning I post a little drawing that I've done in response to the news that morning.
And it's a sort of self-help program for myself.
I found it very useful.
But again, it's a way, I think, of sort of communing in a sense and having a response to things.
Sometimes, you know, someone...
goes on the television and says something preposterous about climate change.
And you do feel, I think, a deep despair, but you can also do something else.
You can also sort of respond by saying, this isn't right.
How do I express that?
And you can use poetry, you can use literature, you can use drawings to express, you know, your feelings and to, you
my son who is studying filmmaking was was with me during lockdown and was incensed i think about the sort of state of the world and you know the the sort of terrible things that were occurring and he like many young people i think wanted to just go out he said dad i feel like going out and sort of you know overturning cars and you know breaking windows and i said jack you mustn't do that you know that's not the right response um and so i wrote uh
I wrote a little poem for him.
It's a little poem that, in a sense, is both for him and possibly for Rupert Murdoch.
