And it's also going to affect the bookies too.
So yeah, any machine.
So machines were not affected by last year's very, very large increases in gambling tax.
So last year, the tax on the online gambling companies doubled, I think, to 50% of revenue as well.
This is this mental stuff.
On top of corporation tax, all the other taxes.
And this is just, predictably enough, wrecking the entire
industry.
Bookies got a sort of exemption from it, partially.
They're still going to face some other tax rises, but not quite as bad as what the online sector is facing.
And the amusement arcades and indeed the bingo halls, anyone that has fruit machines, basically, various forms of fruit machines, they didn't face a tax rise.
But the same people who lobbied for last year's tax have now come back.
Actually, we need to increase machine gaming duty, as it's known.
They're looking at maybe getting another four or five hundred million pounds a year from these companies.
These companies, I don't think, have that kind of money lying around.
You think of the average seaside arcade, they don't give me the impression that they're particularly flush with cash.
I don't know, maybe not.
And there's those little penny machines and they put a penny in and it pushes it out.
Look at all those two pence pieces.
