How much of an impact is it expected that the war in Iran is going to have on the midterms, which, keep in mind, are still a while away?

Can we expect there to be a huge impact on the midterms based on Donald Trump's performance in Iran?

So can we expect then Donald Trump to be wanting or to have a bit more impetus to get a deal done in Iran because of the looming midterms?

Because I've heard both sides in terms of commentary.

I've heard people saying, oh, well, he'll be rushing a deal through.

He'll want something to be done and soon.

And then I've heard the other side where people are saying, no, he doesn't care about the midterm results.

He doesn't think that Iran's going to have an impact.

What's your take on both those sides?

Okay.

So one area that's definitely going to have an impact then, but I'm curious as well, because there's been a whole lot of talk of gerrymandering in the lead up to the midterms.

So I guess to set the scene for that, can you explain how

voting works in the US in terms of what seat or what district you vote for?

Because obviously here in Australia, most people would be familiar with the electorate system.

You're in an electorate, you vote for the representative for that electorate.

Is it similar in the US?

Right.

So is it all Republican states that we're seeing this happen in right now?

Yeah, I mean, I laugh, but also it's kind of depressing because there's this, you know, when Trump was reelected, there was a lot of conversation around, you know, is this the end of democracy?

And that conversation was happening for a number of reasons.
