Can you talk us through his legacy and what made him the giant that he was?
So talk me through a little bit of his early life.
As I understand it, he grew up in New York and like you said, his mum was a Black Panther.
He was raised by his mum and his aunts were very influential in his life.
I understand he was a dancer early on who attended art school and that pipeline to rap really wasn't one that a lot of people thought would be his life, right?
Well, when we talk about Tupac, he's someone who is very synonymous with the East Coast, West Coast rap rivalry of that time, um, the turf wars between the different gangs.
Can you take us through that era of his life and and explain to us just how involved he was in those feuds?
I
In that particular I wanna zoom in on those those few years there.
So from nineteen ninety four we have the shooting, then he's in jail.
He maintains that he was set up for those charges.
He claims that you know he was not guilty there.
Um then we see him sign to a new record label, right?
Death Row Records, yep.
And then that kind of plays a role in what we see happen in the Las Vegas shooting that ultimately led to the end of his life.
Well, that's what I want to talk about now the night that uh Tupac was shot, uh September seventh, nineteen ninety-six.
This trial that's going on at the moment, this will be the first criminal prosecution in Tupac's killing.
So we are kind of learning more about the story as the court case continues, but what can you tell us about the circumstances that led to his death?
Like what are the facts and details that we do know to be true that happened that night?
Wow, okay, so fast forward now thirty years, uh, we have the first criminal trial really into into the killing of Tupac.
