And then they use the strengths and abilities.

I mean, there's just a long list of of things and working on how we can frame it to also get the needs met.
So that's number three for presuming competence.
I'm valuing your child's strengths and abilities.
You have we want to hear that.
We want to hear that in the IEP because it can be daunting.
Going to a meeting and all you hear is, I can't, I can't, the child can't do this, the child can't do that.
You know, we need some language to say, okay, what can they do?
And then how can we get those needs met?
Number four, sign of identifying needs.
an individual or a therapist or an IEP that presumes competence is that they focus on the child's potential, right?
Rather than perceived deficits, rather than perceiving that the child doesn't want to have friends or that they don't have empathy or that, that they,
can't engage in back and forth conversations, they reflect back and say, you know what?
This child has the potential.
If I can create the right environment and I can remove barriers in the class and I can build the right accommodations, then we can focus on the potential.
We're not going to focus on these perceived deficits, right?
That's what that whole strengths-based language and model is.
The last one, to look for a therapist or an IEP that presumes competence.
