Let me paint a little picture of the state of the Mavericks right now.

So when you walk into American Airlines Center, the media entrance side, there's an enormous banner.

And at the beginning of the season, there was two Mavericks players on that banner.

It was Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis.

Makes a lot of sense, right?

Well, the Mavericks had their first home game in three weeks on Thursday.

So it's been a while since I've been at the AAC.

Wow.

Walking in, I see Kyrie Irving's still there, but there's a different face up there at Anthony Davis's place.

It's none other than Najee Marshall in front of the Dallas skyline.

This is a Najee Marshall city now.

Yes.

I wrote it in.

I've covered him literally his entire career.

I was there during his rookie season when he was an undrafted two-way guy during COVID playing for Stan Van Gundy in an empty smoothie team center.

I can write the Najee Marshall book.

Yeah, I mean, I think the first two weeks of the season, Jason Kidd effectively put the ball in his hands and made him the point guard.

And he looked uncomfortable.
