Most of them for sure are not paying for the youth.

Uh they're not subsidizing it.

That begs the question of if you want to start talking about uh uh of opportunity and and investment into the youth development space, you need more pro clubs investing in that.

And then to do that, you need to look at the economic structure of the game.

Obviously, MLS does not have promotion relegation, single entity, 30, 32 teams, maybe it gets to 36, whatever the number is.

USL trying to set up its own pyramid um with generally less resources and less funding than MLS does.

But everybody looking, you know, again at the bottom line, you know, the the dirty secret of all pro sports is very, very few of them actually make any money year over year.

The value is in long-term valuation of the of the franchise.

Those are really deep economic waters to get into and I don't wanna be get open the door on the pro rel argument, but that is also a big incentive to developing players and other places.

It's not just selling them, it's the opportunity for your club to move up levels both competitively um and economically.

So that's number one.

And uh I'm sure there's statistics out here people can find that would be better than what we can pull off of uh Chat GPT or whatever.

But the number of young American players getting meaningful professional minutes in American pro leagues and MLS has dropped over time.
