And so that was kind of, it was worse than just working for you.
They're saying, if we, because at least an employee gives you the consent, right?
An employee gives their employer consent.
And so when they did the Stamp Act and they said, we're going to start taxing
you know, papers and printed materials in the colonies.
We're going to tax all these things, goods and services or whatever.
We're going to tax, we're going to start levying a tax on you.
You have no representation.
We don't care what you say.
We don't need your consent.
We're going to take what we want to take.
Well, they're like, well,
that's a violation of our of our rights and that means that we're slaves and so then that's the underlying resentment that starts to brew and you and it just starts to spread like a wildfire in the colonies which you can imagine you start taking people's money i mean that's the thing you start taking people's money i mean it's it's like i always said if you you know uh
Most of my career, I got paid W-2.
I was a W-2 employee.
And so I would get my paycheck.
I never really, I mean, at first I looked at the stub and I'd be like, oh my gosh.
They're taking that much out in taxes.
