jurors are told at the start of any trial is that you've got to stay clear of um the prosecution, the defence, journalists, um and you've got to sort of protect the integrity of the trial.
It's with a bit of a common sense approach.
You know that you're occasionally going to pass somebody in a hallway, or in the case of this particular trial.
perhaps walk into the same cafe or or pass them on the street.
And this happens in every trial all the time.
There are these little incidental fleeting moments, um but
an issue is not made of it.
A and one of the judges was questioning, you know, what's the difference between a juror possibly seeing uh a police officer in the same accommodation as opposed to seeing that same person out on the street?
iNaturalist post, this piece of evidence became quite important in the trial because um some citizen scientists had posted about deathcap mushrooms being located in Loch and Outram, which are some towns quite close to Erin Patterson's home in in Lee and Gather.
And and the allegation was um
in a broad way that Paterson must have seen these posts
Um about death caps growing.
We don't have the concrete proof that she did this, but you can put two and two together.
