He's nothing to me.

As of right now, as of January 25th, 2026, George Lombard means nothing.

And this is a guy that struggled mightily offensively at AA.

So do we even have somebody we can rely on another year or two?

So that's not the issue.

Cam Schlittler really isn't even the issue.

As much as I don't want to trade him and I want to have our own homegrown ace, our own homegrown baby Cole, I want that guy.

If you're telling me it's Cam Schlittler and just, you know, hot dog wrappers for one year at Tark Skubal, it would hurt.

But for Tark Skubal, it has to hurt.

You might get me on that because that's selling out to win.

And you're replacing a starting pitcher with a better starting pitcher.

Because, yeah, you want to argue Paul Skeens is the best starting pitcher in baseball.

I don't know if I can sit there and fight you on that one.

But this is 1A in school.

The problem for me is Ben Rice.

And it's not that I can't trade Ben Rice.

I can't trade Ben Rice.

I can't trade the combination of Ben Rice and Cam Schlittler in one deal for a rental.

I can't trade a guy.

What I really can't do is looking at this roster and trying to figure out where the 30-plus home runs are coming from.
