Jason Dominguez.
Jason Dominguez is going to play left field.
Is Jason Dominguez putting up a year that Cody Bellinger put up last year?
I don't know that.
I do not know that.
I'm hopeful that he can.
The Yankees, by telling you, by what I read after the Bellinger signing, that he's going into the season as a fourth outfielder, they don't think he's going to do it.
It's already out there.
Again, more reporting this week, the Yankees don't see him as a long-term center fielder.
They think he's bad defensively, and they don't know if he's ever going to be able to hit right-handed.
It's a good way to box a 21-year-old player that was the Martian out of this world talent into a corner in his second full big league season.
But smarter Yankees.
I can't replace what I am.
Even at the worst case scenario, I know Ben Rice is going to hit me 25 to 30 home runs this year based on what I've seen from him through two major league seasons.
I feel comfortable of saying Cody Bellinger is going to get near 30 home runs and 90 RBIs again based on what I saw last year, knowing how well, how much better he was at Yankee Stadium than he was on the road last year.
What I don't know is the pencil in for anything for Jason Dominguez.
And putting that question mark into the lineup when I already don't know what I'm getting out of Trent Grisham.
And yes, I don't know because I don't know if he can replicate that.
What I'm getting out of shortstop, what I'm getting out of catcher, what I'm getting out of third base is not worth the risk of one year of Tarek Skubal.
You tell me I'm getting two years?
