But I remember getting to high school, and in my freshman year of high school,
watching backstage.
I worked backstage doing, you know, helping with costumes and all.
I remember sitting backstage and watching the girls who were performing, thinking, oh my God, how are they doing that?
Anyway, the following year, I think I auditioned for a play, and we had this wonderful drama teacher in high school, and her name was Miranda Curry, and she was a former opera singer and ballet dancer.
Miranda Curry.
Miranda Curry.
She had a marvelous voice.
I didn't realize she was Australian.

She had flaming red hair.
She was rather, think Maggie Smith, because she had this aquiline nose.
She had a rather impeccable manners.

Of course, I was cast as Mame in Mame, and I was the lead in the senior class play.
