We did African dancing.

We did drumming.

We did improvisational theater.

Anyway, we wound up performing on the streets of Buffalo.

We did street theater.

And the Buffalo Theater Workshop was connected to the New York Theater Workshop.

And we actually took a trip there.

to New York and performed street theatre in Bedford-Stuyvesant with the New York Theatre Workshop.

You know, I mean, it was just magic.

And how old were you at this time?

I was 16, 17.

There were boys.

Well, you could imagine.

I often joke that when you're raised by nuns who tell you...

that if a boy touches you anywhere from the neck down, he turns into a wild animal, and if you get pregnant, it's your fault for not controlling him.

Well, there's something in that.

There is something in that, but you can imagine how alluring sex becomes because you have to think, if it's so bad, it must be so good.

So, yes, I think the... Did you toy with any of that, or did you just think about it?

Oh, yes, I had very sexy boyfriends.

I mean, it was so titillating.
