I was escaping loss of identity through a failing marriage.
To reinvent yourself at 50, it is scary, especially for a woman and a woman who hasn't worked in many years.
It took a huge leap for me to turn over at 50, thinking that I was too old, you know, I can't do it.
What am I going to do?
But no, it's never too late.
Being here and doing all this today has reminded me how far I've come.
It was such a scary journey in the beginning to just give up everything and to come up to Destin not knowing anyone and making a life.
Of course, being a woman, you know, I was 50 and I thought, well, what guy's going to want a 50-year-old?
He can get a young girl.
So I thought my chances of ever finding a lasting relationship was slim to none.
But that...

Oh, I flew.
It's a 10-hour drive.
