And then we have this spontaneous outburst of a famous song, Comrade Tito, we swear an oath to you that we will not deviate from your path.
And it rings around the 50,000 crowd present in the stadium.
That is a big symbolic moment.
The idea of a Yugoslav state, of building something like this in the Western Balkans, was severely damaged by this genocidal war in the 1940s.
And yet, something positive was built there.
There were losers.
There were losers in all of this.
and the party committed all manner of crimes that authoritarian regimes commit.
And yet, for your average Yugoslav citizen, the 60s and 70s were golden years of travel, of outward-looking, world-leading behavior, whether that's in sports or in fashion or in filmmaking or in music.
Yugoslavia was out there at the forefront for several decades.
And that new communist Yugoslavia is one of the most loyal allies of the Soviet Union.
It's a country which looks to Moscow for advice, for guidance.
The first constitution is very closely based on the first Soviet constitution.
And everything looks as though Yugoslavia is going to become a core member of the newly emerging Eastern Bloc.
And it becomes clear to the Yugoslav leadership that it is now faced with an existential crisis.
The Soviet Union is calling for the party as a whole in Yugoslavia to remove its leadership and to move back towards the Soviet position.
And there are all kinds of order incursions.
There are incidents and various threats.
And the Yugoslav Central Committee are by no means confident that they won't face a major intervention from the Soviet Union in this state.
But they start to think on their feet.
