So there's a lot of ideas out there.
A year or two ago.
The idea that these tech companies would pay for a hundred percent of the required grid upgrades was a little bit of a radical idea.
Now it is standard language.
Another thing they can do is build power on site.
They can do what's called behind the meter production, which is just we're not going to connect to the grid at all until the grid is ready and we're just going to build our own power plant.
And then that's also driving these more radical.
future technologies.
And those include small modular nuclear reactors, which don't exist yet, but companies are investing in their development.
Google just announced a deal with a company called Fervo, which does a exotic
Geothermal energy, literally drawing heat from deep underground to generate power.
I would call this Deep Seek Part 2, except I think, frankly, the threat is even bigger this time.
This is the biggest model ever released that is open weights.
And that's the AI version of open source.
In other words, you can download it.
You can use it for free.
You can fine tune it to your heart's delight.
This seems to be on par performance wise with the best models from open AI and Anthropic.
China can compete and make the most cutting edge models, even though these Chinese AI companies have far fewer resources.
So I would call this deep seek part two, except I think, frankly, the threat is even bigger this time.
