But with people who have a lot of goodwill like Tucker, I do still want to believe.

And you might be on the other side of this one.

But I know.

Listen, again, I maintain some hope.

Well, OK, great.

And I'll frame it as some advice to people who are watching that are asking these questions.

I think you always have to operate on two tracks simultaneously.

There's the political track, which is more abstract.

It's about elections and ideas and power and the flow of money in our society, ideologies that travel through institutions.

And all of us should be and you and I have been involved in this fight to reform those ideologies and reform those institutions to try to have political victories that are meaningful at the collective level, at the national level, at the at the level of of the political politics.

At the same time, I think it's important for all of us, especially for conservatives and especially for people of faith.

To remember to not neglect the personal.

And so if it takes checking out for a month, detox from digital politics, I think that's very wise.

But it's always ultimately life is lived at the human scale and in an enormous society with 24-7 social media frenzy.

It's sometimes easy to mistake your digital life for your personal, organic human life.

And I think that ultimately, America at the human level, if you make smart decisions about where you live, what institutions you participate in, the kind of people you surround yourself with, a good life is still more than possible in America.

It's still more possible here than almost anywhere else.

And so don't forget that your actual life is it's possible to have a good life.
