Ireland's corporation tax receipts are bulging, helped by the increase in the rate of tax paid by large companies as a result of recent changes agreed under the auspices of the OECD.

Owenbert Kennedy of the Irish Times joins me in studio in the second half of the show to walk me through the numbers and to war game what might happen to Ireland's public finances if an Apple, Microsoft, or Eli Lilly were to pull out.

But we're going to start with US tech giant.

Meta, which has had a busy week.

The new Meta glasses have sparked controversy over privacy concerns, while founder Mark Zuckerberg published his AI manifesto.

And the company indicated that it might be willing to pay local communities to host data centers in their areas.

Irish Times tech expert Ciara O'Brien joins me on the line, and she began by explaining why Meta's new glasses have caused such a stir over privacy issues.

Can you take phone calls on it?

Now I'm going to stop you there for one moment, Kira, because last week you were in the office and you were wearing these uh meta glasses and you gave me a little uh demo on them and we were sitting across from each other and I could barely see that red light, the LED light that that you just mentioned.

I could barely see it.

And I could see, I mean, we're in a quite a bright office.
