The reference to Tottenham there, I mean, Pochettino lasted only till, was it November of the same year?

Or maybe October when Tottenham finally then sacked him, you know, even though they'd just played the biggest match, I guess, in their, well, for a long time.

And, yeah, so whereas if he had won that, I'm sure that he would have, I'm sure he would have at least lasted a few more months.

You know, the situation reminds me a little bit of when Gerard Houllier was the manager of Liverpool.

And it was likewise a kind of a rebuilding of a club that had fallen into degeneracy.

Yeah.

And, you know, he kind of was changing the style and sort of bringing in players.

And the style was very bad compared to what Manchester United at the time and what Arsenal at the time were doing, right?

Well, they were Ferguson and Wenger.

The Julien style was four centre-backs.

We've actually seen a lot of that from Arsenal.

He was partial to a four centre-back and four centre midfielders line-up.

And then he had Heskey and Owen.

And also Fowler, but he didn't like Fowler because Fowler was a bit...

Valor obviously didn't really like him, so eventually he ended up getting rid of him, who was seen as kind of the most talented, the most scouse player as well.

He's like, I've got to purge these unruly and unreliable elements and focus on

defending in a rigid way, and knocking balls over the top for Owen and Heskey.

And it was a very uninspired style, which nevertheless was quite good, you know, in terms of, it was much more successful than what had been happening before.
