But we worry that some of this, a big chunk of it, is a windfall tax that could disappear, maybe not overnight, but disappear over a a period of time and could leave us exposed in terms of spending commitments that have already been made.

So what's the outlook for the year as a whole?

And do we know how much this higher tax rate is going to yield on a full year based?

learnt recently that uh Microsoft, which is a big employer here, and obviously one of the big tech companies, is paying more tax in Ireland, corporation tax in Ireland than it is in the US, its home country.

Okay, let's have a look at the three companies.

Apple, obviously, uh most of its money is made out of the iPhone.

If we look at Microsoft, very well embedded here and of course it's the company that uh is well embedded across enterprises globally in terms I mean we ourselves use Microsoft Outlook and Teams and so many companies across the world use um their various uh enterprise solutions.

And Eli Lilly, I guess uh its recent success is built around weight loss drugs.

Mm, yeah.

Uh no, I guess in the farmer world things can change uh over a a period of time and you might have a leadership role uh and then things come off patent and you know, the world moves on to it moves away from weight loss and it focuses on cancers or whatever it might be, or vaccines if we have another pandemic.

Bit different with Apple and and Microsoft, but does the risk to the Irish economy focus more on on pharma than on tech?

no doubt.

So Trump is um

Well he's what, he's more than eighteen months.

He's about twenty months into his uh presidency at this stage.

You know, he made all sorts of uh threats against Ireland and threats towards the the big multinationals we've been talking about.

If you don't come back to America and relocate more jobs here and more taxes here, then I'm going to

uh I'm gonna take action.
