How Do I Tolerate My In-Laws for My Family’s Sake?
And she writes, I've been with my boyfriend for three years, and our relationship is amazing, fun, supportive, and engaging. Nope. Nope. They have known each other for about 10 years, and she recently got married. However, her husband works out of town and won't be home. I am uncomfortable with him staying there because we have both had affairs in previous relationships.

How Do I Tolerate My In-Laws for My Family’s Sake?
I trust him completely, but I also think that it is better to have a practice that we don't stay alone with people of the opposite sex. He sees it as platonic and that it is not an issue. Am I out of line?

I have a question concerning group life insurance to my company who now are having me pay the taxes on it. um the yearly taxes on it and it has just went up three hundred dollars since last year and i have been trying to cancel this policy why what's the problem with you canceling it like what happens when you don't when you let it lapse or when you just say i don't want it anymore
The Ramsey Show
What Are You Willing To Give Up for Financial Freedom?
Well, first off, I'm getting this, you need to talk to your employer. And then my employer says, no, you need to talk to the insurance company. And they're sending me back and forth. I started this process in December of last year, 24th. Um, they ended up saving me, uh, sending me a waiver paper to cancel the policy and it is still not canceled.
The Ramsey Show
What Are You Willing To Give Up for Financial Freedom?
No, I didn't do nothing with this policy. In fact, I just found this policy out last year.
The Ramsey Show
What Are You Willing To Give Up for Financial Freedom?

The Ramsey Show
What Are You Willing To Give Up for Financial Freedom?
Yes, they just told me that today, matter of fact. They're saying... Hold on a second. They're saying that the face value... Hold on, I've got to get this paperwork back up.

It's $84,500 for basic life and $42,250 for personal. Okay. Do you have life insurance of your own? No, I do not.
The Ramsey Show
What Are You Willing To Give Up for Financial Freedom?

The Ramsey Show

The Ramsey Show
What Are You Willing To Give Up for Financial Freedom?
That's what they told me to do. They told me to go to HR. Now, HR is telling me I have to go through the insurance company to cancel it out.

Learn the Power of the Magical Word, “NO”
So, um, we, my husband and I are on baby step three, but six months ago he lost his job and we're trying to figure out, do we get rid of the life insurance, the umbrella, um, to help with everything? Or do we want to keep those things, um, on our budget?
The Ramsey Show
Learn the Power of the Magical Word, “NO”
He was laid off. He's in sales, and he's been trying. And praise God, he's been humbled. So he's been trying everything, and now he's even taking classes. And we only have the one car because we went gazelle intense. So the car that we have for, like, Lyft, I think it's too old, the year of it.

I think like production-based, like if you don't hit a quota.

Learn the Power of the Magical Word, “NO”
Yeah, he made $50,000. Altogether, we did $130,000 in our taxes last year. So he made like $30,000 in sales.

It’s Never Too Late to Clean Up a Financial Mess
Yes, hi. Me and my husband are reading your Total Money Makeover book, and we are trying to get serious about getting out of debt. But we currently have about $300,000 worth of debt, and we're just really struggling to make minimum payments on credit card, let alone save up the $1,000 emergency fund.

It’s Never Too Late to Clean Up a Financial Mess
So we've got about $50,000 credit card, $50,000 car loan. That was $75,000. I just sold my car to get out from under that. And about $40,000 home equity loan.
The Ramsey Show
It’s Never Too Late to Clean Up a Financial Mess

It’s Never Too Late to Clean Up a Financial Mess
My husband's car is a 2022. We owe about 33,000 on it. And then my daughter's car is a 2022 Corolla and we owe about 17,000. So we're going to sell both of those in the next 15 days, right? Are we?
The Ramsey Show
It’s Never Too Late to Clean Up a Financial Mess
About... I think it's about $130,000 a year before taxes, bringing home probably right around $100,000. Okay.

It’s Never Too Late to Clean Up a Financial Mess
We definitely have a budget. There was some time that we got a little bit out of control. We have two teenagers, but we have reeled all that in.

It’s Never Too Late to Clean Up a Financial Mess
Mine wasn't even trade. They paid it off, and then my daughter's is. My husband's is not. He would be upside down.
The Ramsey Show
It’s Never Too Late to Clean Up a Financial Mess
We maxed out. We were really frivolous on one, and the other one, we had everything go wrong in one year and had to put ACs and cars and taxes all on one.
