To keep up with the band, we need 20 to 30.
So really what we really need to see is increased resourcing in genetic counsellors in the country.
I suppose, number one, the most important thing is just because you have a family history of cancer doesn't mean that you automatically have inherited or hereditary cancer risk.
And that's really important.
As Marlia said, 5% to 10% of all cancers have a hereditary basis.
But we don't want you to go through it alone.
And it's really important that you don't go through your anxiety and your worries alone.
So please do go to your GP immediately.
A GP will take a family history and then refer you on if it's deemed appropriate.

We're actually funding a project at the moment with St.
James's Hospital and Rosie O'Shea, a genetic counsellor there.
And she's looking at ways in which we can get those waiting lists down in Ireland.
And what we're exploring is the use of digital tools.
So potentially an online interactive platform instead of somebody having to have your consult with a genetic counsellor, some sort of interactive platform that can kind of do that pre-test process.
and consenting, or we're also looking at virtual online consultations with genetic counsellors.
And so far, you know, we've looked at a small group of people, but it's been acceptable.
