I'm not sure why that sort of happens or when, but I can write for a long time and it's just like kind of not plodding along, but I'm just sort of writing.

And then sometimes there's just this sort of little kind of a crawl of some sort of energy.

And I think, oh, all right.

And yeah, that's about it.

Well, I sort of try not to sort of fudge it by thinking about it too much or getting too excited or letting it know that I know that it's happening.

So I just kind of, yeah, yeah, okay.

It's just like, you know, look the other way, kind of thing.

But then I suppose that energy or whatever that is, is an indication then that maybe something is being shown to me.

but I have to go kind of careful then because then you can kind of start thinking you're onto something and it might just be something quite small and that's it and it's momentary and you don't have to make a big deal of it, you know what I mean?

There can be a tendency maybe to think we're going to make a big deal out of this, but it's probably better not to.

So, like I said, I try not to get, you know, too excited about it.

Yeah, I don't know whether it's necessarily a sort of a decision that's made.

It's just sort of how you kind of feel about, I suppose, just sort of things, really.

My sort of general abiding sort of feeling is that there...

there's just a lot that you that you can't sort of know how did Beckett put it there's only a small part can be verified and that's sort of it really that there isn't a great deal that you can be kind of certain of yeah so that I would have that feeling sort of

from a very young age and then there's sort of that paradox then because, you know, language and how we use language and particularly how we write language a lot of the time is in order to establish something or explain something or convey something as kind of clearly and as emphatically and as persuasively as possible.

So, but if you're not kind of working in that vein because you're really not sure that there is anything in particular that can be emphatically stated, then that does make a relationship with language quite peculiar in a way because you're sort of using it against itself.

And I find that, on the one hand, slightly perverse that I'm drawn to use language when I feel this way.

But on the other hand, I find it very exciting, obviously.

And that is my subject.
