And now let's talk about a new Australian novel that started its life as a song.
Songwriters on the Run is the debut novel by Robert Forster, who you might know as the lead singer of the indie band The Go-Betweens.
The book is about a couple of jailbreaking musos evading the law.
And before it was a book, it was this song from Forster's solo album, Songs to Play.
It's a beautiful song.
When did you write this song?
Is it usual for a song to stay with you for that long, Robert, to have more questions about a song you've written?

I love hearing the evolution of this.
