I could have easily been, you know, lynched.

And that's my point, is that having had that experience, the scales dropped from my eyes.
First of all, my career began in England.
My first professional job was in England with the Watford Rep, a repertory company, doing Guys and Dolls.
There and then twice with the National Theatre.
I've never been in luck before.
