So if you're thinking about running for something like mayor and it's impossible to win, but there is some local council or local municipality that you can run in and it's more of a split district where there's enough Republicans or Democrats or it's at least winnable focus there.

And one of the things I talk about is you really have to be careful about losing too much, right?

This is why the Libertarian Party, I've got a lot of friends over there, but it almost burns people out because all the activists, all the donors that put forward, you know, 50 or 100 bucks.

When you lose, you know, one, you don't legislate, but two, you burn everybody else out.

So my advice is if you're in a deep blue state, find races that you can win.

And through those campaigns, that's how you'll change hearts and minds.

That's how you'll start to build around the ideas you care about.

No, if you're in a deep blue district and you want to win, that's the only way.

The problem we have, Dr. Drew, is a lot of people, at least with the liberty principles I believe in, it's going to be tough to win a primary, right?

Because if you don't stand for $100 minimum wage, right, you're going to get run out of the primary.

If you don't stand for all the woke stuff, if you don't stand for masking 365 days a year,

Unfortunately, in a primary, it's very tough because a lot of the radicals, you know, they'll kind of call you out if you have any type of what I would call rational views.

But that's what the Democrat Party is today.

Yeah, so we have tons of different, you know, campaign activists.

So anybody that's volunteering or wants to work on campaigns, you know, I spend a lot of my time, Dr. Drew, trying to talk people out of running for office, right?

So even people that are thinking about running, you know, yeah, read the book, but don't be surprised if I kind of lay it out there for you.

I mean, if you're going to run for Congress, are you really prepared to sit in a locked room for eight hours a day begging people for money for six months?

I don't like to sugarcoat it for candidates.

And I talk a lot about fundraising, not because I think fundraising is great, but so many of the grassroots candidates, the good people that get into it for the right reasons, they don't realize you're walking into a game where usually two candidates, if they're both not incumbents, their name ID is like 2%.

Nobody knows them.
