This is Inside Business with Cliff Taylor.
On Thursday, European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde is expected to announce a quarter point rise in the ECB's key interest rate, bringing it to two and a quarter percent.
This will be the first rise since 2023.
And it is a move that may lead to a cycle of increasing rates to control inflation over the rest of this year.
What impact is this likely to have on Irish mortgage holders and those looking to buy?
