Okay, I'm not sure about quitting jobs within the hour.
Within the hour, you barely know anything.
What do you know about a job within the first hour, truly?
Oh, okay.
How do you deal with coworkers who are always fake busy?
I work with a few people who always look busy, but don't actually get much done.
Lots of meetings, lots of talking, but not much output.
Meanwhile, the people who actually do the work are quieter and less visible.
It's kind of frustrating.
How do you handle that without sounding like you're complaining?
Ooh, I might have a really unpopular opinion here, but the people who are doing the talking, the people who are doing the communication, the people who are yapping around talking about how much they do, honestly, they're kind of onto something.
And not to say that they are better than the people who just sit down and get their head down and work hard, but when it comes to corporate, you do have to balance the visibility aspect of it.
And if you feel like it's unfair,
I'm gonna give some really unpopular advice, but maybe lean into that a little bit more, lean into the visibility part a little bit more instead of working tirelessly and not getting credit for it.
Instead, I feel like a lot of people go through this process of they work tirelessly at something, they put their head down,
And they expect the work to talk for itself, which I've already talked a lot about in this podcast.
That's not how corporate works.
But a lot of people go through this and then they grow so much resentment because they work so hard.
And then they see Joe on the side who does half the work get promoted.
But that's because Joe on the side did the visibility, did the politics game, went around talking to people about how much work he did.
