There was always money for, you know, a 30 pack of old style and a carton of cigarettes a piece and wine and whatever medication, whatever expensive doctor told you you needed to take.

and it wasn't so much it was it was just like a like a neglect yeah i can't play baseball anymore because you can't afford it hockey's expensive so that's fucking out i have no uh recourse to to do anything um and it i discovered through music i discovered punk rock

And I discovered, well, shit, they're not paying attention to me.

I would disappear for weeks at a time or a weekend and I would go into the city and I would go to these punk shows.

um you know my friend my friend nora who was at the all-state arena on monday you know like she'd pick me up and we'd disappear into the city and we'd go to the fireside bowl and see the blue meanies or see like i saw green day play in 1993-94 at the fireside bowl this old dilapidated bowling alley and i found a community through that like these oh the these people somebody would buy me a hot dog and you know like just experience all this that

I didn't get like at home, you know?

And then I think that helped me.

Like, I felt like I was a misfit.

I felt like I, you know, like I had,

a sibling who got bought a car, went to college, dropped out.

Like they spent them.

Yeah.

So my, when it came my turn, whether it was just through circumstance of bad luck, you don't have a job now or what fucking ever.

But like, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't get shit.

I didn't get anything.

So I had to outsource, you know?

And, and,

I'm not going to say it was easy for me.

But again, I think some kids have it a lot harder with like violence or sexual abuse or stuff like that.

So I'm definitely not crying over spilt milk.
