I think they need to get at least one legit swing and miss arm.
And if we're being realistic, they probably have to bring in multiple additions to pad this bullpen, guys who can get strikeouts, guys who can give A.J.
Hinch more options because this is a manager who's really good at seeking optimal matchups, of taking care of his bullpen, kind of changes everything about the way the Tigers are trying to navigate through games when you only have, say, two relief arms you actually feel confident

Yeah, there are some other upgrades they certainly could make.
It's a little unclear at this point how much the front office actually values some of the peripheral things.
But right-handed bat, I think, is the one everyone points to.
And then it's a question, well, okay, what aisle are you shopping in?
Are you shopping in the Eugenio Suarez aisle?
That would require getting a third baseman, sticking him there in the lineup every day.
It would kind of be counter to the way the Tigers run their team, which is a different lineup every single day.
Last year is pitching chaos.
This year it's kind of positional chaos.
Is it worth it for the power that Suarez brings?
Plus the price he's going to command with a lot of other contenders who like him.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Tigers aren't quite in that aisle, but maybe are seeking more of a platoon right-handed bat.
Kind of a more proven Jemai Jones, a guy who's currently on their roster and has done pretty well.
But that seems to be one area to upgrade.
Again, it does feel a little bit like maybe this offense has overachieved through the first half.
