Um, in America you can win your division and your division's only got four teams.
Um, you can win your conference, you can win the Super Bowl.
And I think one of the challenges for us is how to establish more ways for a team to have a successful year because once every nineteen years
is pretty thin, I think.
Um, I'd probably prefer to stay at eighteen.
Um, one of the things that uh and I'm not the numbers here get complicated, but um
my thinking was triggered in part.
There was an interesting article in the papers not long ago which showed the top fifty Australian sports persons and their earnings.
And there wasn't one AFL player in it, but there were half a dozen cricketers.
And for the first time now, the AFL is facing competition.
that if you want to live in Australia and be a a professional athlete, you're gonna earn more than you can playing AFL football.
Also, I believe, and this needs to be tested, that the T incremental T V re revenues run out once we move from eighteen
teams.
Nine matches a weekend is basically it.
And so I think there's a cost to going to nineteen.
I prefer to stick to eighteen.
Um
And I'd prefer to have nineteen with a buy.
rather than twenty with a makeup team that doesn't make any great economic sense.
