Isaac Howard is like many young offensive players.

Uh and what I mean by that is they've helped their team their entire life by scoring.

Uh and and he did that in Bakersfield.

Uh you know the biggest points that he needed to work on uh was just managing the puck.

and not throwing it away wildly uh and and has played without the puck defensively.

Um I I will tell you, uh with about thirty games left in the the the American League season, Isaac came to me and said, Okay, I'm gonna be nasty defensively today.

And when the player sees that and owns that and and and asks for that, i it's one thing you're telling 'em

And th they're they're believing something something different.

And not that he didn't want to play defense, is that that's all he knew.

So I will say he took a step in his maturity of understanding uh that there's, you know, six hundred and fifty players in the NHL and uh only 160 of them play the first power play.

So you have to learn how to check, you later learn how to track, you gotta learn how to manage the puck and hang on to it.

He made a lot of those steps later in the season for us.

I'm really excited for this young man uh to see how he does here uh in training camp under a new coaching staff and a new opportunity.
