And I think, you know, considering the times and everything, I think it did very well, you know, because they sold, it was a very, you know, they sold everything from violin strings to drums and pianos and guitars and records.

So,

So, you know, for my brother and sister and I, growing up in a music shop was fantastic.

Yeah.

And we were musical as well.

So, you know, all of us, my brother and my sister and myself, we loved music.

And so it was a very exciting way to grow up.

My mother really looked after the shop.

How she did it, I have no idea, because she had three children under the age of eight, and my brother was eight and I was four when we first moved in.

So I think I was about five, maybe four or five.

So for nine years we were in the shop before we came to Australia.

And so my mother would be breastfeeding my sister and she'd put her down and she'd run into the shop and serve somebody, you know, and an amazing job she did.

But my father, I remember my father being in the shop more after the shop was closed, which was a really magical time for me, a very wonderful time because it was a bit dark and, you know, there was pianos.

You could smell the French polish from when the French polish would come in and polish the pianos.

There was a little drum kit and I would sit on the drum kit.

I would sit on the drum stool and there was a little turntable and my father would sit there and play records.

He would play... He was like a DJ.

He would play songs, put on different records and play them and say... I remember him playing a Beatles record and saying to me, listen to these guys, I think they'll do well.

And...

So that was a lovely time.
