She taught me how to play songs like that.
And so that was great because immediately when I first started to play the guitar, I could play songs, which is what I think most people want to be able to do when they first start to play the guitar.
They want to be able to play a song.
So I took lessons from Alison and then I came to Australia and then I kind of got into bands after that.
I never really consciously thought of things like careers.
It was the only thing that made sense to me.
You know, so it was like a path that's there in front of you and you either, you know, walk down the path because it's there.
Why wouldn't you?
Because it makes sense, you know.
Nothing else really made any sense.
You know, I didn't want to be... I didn't want to do anything else.
Anything else was just really...
a way of getting money to buy a guitar or something, you know, like I always worked.
I worked at anything.
I worked, you know, I drove trucks.
I was a labourer and I went to university to kind of plot and scheme.
And so I did other, I did jobs just to kind of make some money.
But it was always just so that I could, to the end of being able to buy an amplifier or buy a guitar and carry that, carry on that dream.
But ambition, yeah, I think I was ambitious.
I think I'm still ambitious, really, you know.
