It was a hard watch.

I think it's fair to say.

I think this was a slow burner.

Alexander Izak got the only goal of the game 12 minutes into the second half.

That's his fourth league goal of the season, which is more than last season for Izak.

So I guess that shows what a full pre-season and full fitness can do.

And that's probably the main bright spark for Liverpool alongside another clean sheet.

That's three in a row in the Premier League.

Jeremy Jacquet has been very good in the centre of defence again I thought he was quite a commanding presence he's quite good on the ball and Liverpool can play out quite comfortably and it looks quite settled already he has Ronaldo Rojo playing at right back it's probably not his favourite position but he's kind of unspectacular but relatively solid there I think

Barcelona were quite happy to see him go because he struggled in that high line that anti-flick team plays.

But Liverpool is going to be a little bit different.

And I think he looks quite solid, certainly compared to Jeremy Frimpong before, who's defensively quite erratic, I think it's fair to say.

And maybe Bournemouth is just slightly concerning the fact that they've now played five in the league.

They haven't won yet.

I thought they were OK in this game.

But the thing that gets me with this Bournemouth team a little bit

is that even when they play okay, that's not really enough because I don't think in the striking department, certainly without Junior Kruppi being available, and in the goalkeeping department too, Petrovic didn't make an error in this game, but those are two key areas of the pitch where you can almost cheat a little bit, whereas if you've got somebody who's maybe above the average, you can get away with a below par game and win.

I don't think Bournemouth can really do that.

And in this game, they had the ball in decent positions quite a lot, but they ran out of ideas in the final third.

They were making poor decisions there.
