Jesse Marsh has, let's say, during his tenure, has consistently played a very, very similar type of football to all of a sudden change things.
Now, unless Jesse has been working with the team, I used to do this when I was a manager of FC Edmonton.
When we were going to play the Whitecaps, as an example, in the Canadian Championship, I would start to work with the team
two weeks before we played the whitecaps but i'd do it in an afternoon session so in the morning it would be fc edmonton get ready to play whoever it was new york cosmos or tampa bay routers but then in the afternoon i say okay guys it wasn't a physically demanding session it was more of a team shape and an organization type of thing here's how we're going to shape up against the vancouver whitecaps and it really worked there were no surprises to when we played against the whitecaps and we were unlucky not to beat them on a couple of occasions so um if jesse has been
you know preparing them slightly that hey we may play one of these teams here's how we may change if he if he's done that as part of his training session then it's not a drastic change but if all of a sudden he's gone from south africa this way oh by the way guys we're going to play five at the back today and the team hasn't played it for so long there is an element of players not knowing the timing of things so you don't want that yeah
Yeah, so I actually, I don't foresee that happening, Blake.
I think that he will go with the back four.
Maybe he drops another player into midfield, which is understandable.
But we have to have an out ball.
And I think Jonathan David has to stay as far up the field as he possibly can.
Because he, you know, you look at, if it hadn't been for Harry Kane, England would have been out of the tournament by now.
But he stays inside that 18-yard box now.
He's the killer inside that 18-yard box.
We need to get Jonathan David as far up the park as... Now, if we're going to drop him into midfield, then, you know, Jonathan David is not a midfield player, regardless of any way he wants.
He stays up.
Now, if it's Olowashi and Jonathan David, it's still doable.
But if it's Jonathan David or the other centre-forward who drops into that to make it a five when we've lost possession, that's okay.
But then as soon as we win it, those two strikers have got to get as high up the park as we can.
It's easy on paper, guys.
It's easy on paper.
