They pushed Egypt all the way.
And they deservedly got that goal.
And Sadio Mane got a second one over Egypt for the second time, remember, in 2021.
They beat Egypt on penalties to become champions.
For Mohamed Salah, the weights to become
an African champion goes on.
And I think it's sad for him because when you're an Egypt superstar, the expectations is that you deliver a Nations Cup title to Egypt.
And unfortunately for Salah, he hasn't been able to do that.
He's 31 now.
By the time the next Afghan rolls around, he's going to be 33 and probably wouldn't be as much of a factor.
as he has been in previous years.
So I guess maybe the only silver lining for him is that you have two Afghans back to back, 2027 and 2028, before he goes into a four-year cycle.
But whether he's going to be as influential or as effective as he has been in the past when these two come rolling around, I'm not so sure.
So I won't be surprised to see Mohamed Salah announce his retirement after the walk-up.
It's a tough call, to be honest.
Morocco have got the crowd backing them.
I mean, that stadium was jumping today at everything that Morocco did.
And you've got to think that, you know, the omens, the stars are aligned perfectly for them to go ahead and win, I think, their second title, if I'm not mistaken.
But Senegal, Senegal are really good.
