Hi, Joe.
I think Charlotte Burns has probably got to the kernel of the issue, Joe.
I think it is about money.
I think within the GAA, certainly at county level, the horses have been spooked by the potential bill that there is to integrate the inter-county structure and to bring certainly the female teams standards around the charter and the level of preparation
up to some level of equalisation to where the male, the inter-county hurling and Gaelic football is right now.
Obviously, Gareth Burns has referenced the 45 million, and that has probably doubled since the start of the decade.
Even after that, it was only 30 million a few years ago.
Obviously, with inflation, it has soared.
it tapered off a little bit last year, but there's still signs of it just nudging up ever so, ever that little bit more all the time.
Now, I don't think it's probably fair to say that the bill would be doubled straight away because the integration, the steering committee, the steering integration group, they did have a subcommittee in operation where there was representatives of the three bodies joined by Tom Parsons, the
the chief executive of the Gaelic Players Association, to try and crunch the numbers.
That was the player charter and guaranteed funding work group.
And they worked out a minimum standard cost around mileage, nutrition, all the supports needed for every team.
Now, there's 61 female teams across Camogie and Ladies Football.
And they averaged that the gap between what they would need would be about €150,000 per team.
So when you multiply all that together, they arrived at a figure of 10.3 million would be required to reach a minimum standard cost.
What would be acceptable?
Now, there was no discussion around timelines for that.
But to my mind, this this is the big issue that is holding this up.
This is what has county treasurers.
