And it's bad enough that Jim gets hit inside the leg, breaks his leg and all of that.
What happens, as he described it to me, is when he gets hit, he goes forward.
Supposedly the landing or the controls are shot away.
But he remembers landing.
Now, what happened, though, was there was no place to land, per se.
There was a small opening.
So they go to a country, brings it nose up, so it's going to come in boom, bang.
It's going to be a very bad day under all circumstances, but it just kind of ameliorates the shock because it's coming in like this.
What's key, though, is that you have no idea what the orientation of the helicopter is going to be because the blades are still spinning, which is going to affect the way it lands.
So you don't know until the end of that.
Well, it turns out that about a click, click and a half in front of them is a friendly fire support base, and they see the incident happen.
and crashes, and all of a sudden, out of his body, floating above, and he's looking down, and he can say, here's the helicopter, here's how it's oriented, and there's the base in front of us.
And he says this hooded, I said, why male?
But he thought it was a male figure, says, what are you doing here?
And he said, the response was, well, I want help for them, not I'm in trouble.
He says, but don't you know?
He says, know what?
You're not dead yet.
With this, Jim sits up inside the thing.
