And he would talk me off the ledge.
Basically, his message was, don't take your critics seriously.
Don't take your naysayers seriously.
Don't take your press seriously, because I was getting a little skewered in the press, a lot skewered.
He would say, don't take yourself seriously.
but take your work seriously.
And that's what I did.
And I can tell you really that if it had not been for Maury, he was like a partner who helped me every step of the way.
