Because you can do it yourself.
You can work out what the unit rate is from company A and company B and company C. And then you can call around all of these different companies.
But it takes a while.
Whereas when you do it on one of the switching websites, you just key in.
You have to know, you have to have a little bit of information.
But even if you have the bare minimum information and you know, OK, well, my, you know, this is my meter number.
This is the company I'm with.
And this was my consumption.
It'll come back instantly and say, OK, well, we can save you 700 quid if you do X, Y and Z. And so...
it's not the silver bullet.
It's not going to solve everybody's problems all the time.
But if you haven't switched in the last couple of years and you can save yourself a few hundred quid by doing this, you'd be a fool not to.

I think people need to be really conscious of their energy usage.
Now, there are some very clear...
rules and formula as to how much energy that we use in a typical Irish household.
But there's a 60-20-20 rule.
And the 60-20-20 rule means that around 60% of a typical bill goes on heating our homes and then 20% goes on heating the water and 20% goes on electrical appliances.
So obviously, if 60% goes on heating your home, that's the first thing that you need to look at.
Now, there are big steps that people can take.
